Boy with a Guitar: Kikaider vs. Inazuman (ギターを持った少年 -キカイダーVSイナズマン-, Gitā o Motta Shōnen - Kikaidā VS Inazuman) is a work included in the Collector's DVD-BOX along with "Kikaider 01 The Animation/Re-Edition." It is based on Shotaro Ishinomori's manga Inazuman, featuring Jiro as the protagonist in a reimagined story inspired by the original Boy with a Guitar where Jiro made a guest appearance. However, in this adaptation, Jiro takes center stage, and the conclusion diverges from the original.
Aired for the first time on television on March 24, 2008, as part of NHK's To the End! Shotaro Ishinomori.
Differences from the Original[]
- In the original story, the Neo Human Empire's mutants do not appear, and Jiro's goal is influenced by his Obedience Circuit, believing that humanity, which created them, is responsible for the death of his siblings. His aim is to eradicate humanity, with Saburo Kazeta (Inazuman) interfering as the reason for conflict.
- In the original, Saburo uses his psychic powers to destroy Jiro's Obedience Circuit, returning him to his original, imperfect state of conscience.
- In the original, Kikaider 01, who was destroyed by Jiro, does not appear.
