This article is about a/an android in KIKAIDER 00. |
Bijinder (ビジンダー, Bijindā), also known as Mari (マリ ) in human form, is a humanoid android who once fought alongside Kikaider (Jiro) and Kikaider 01 (Ichiro) against the criminal organization SHADOW. Originally created as an android for SHADOW, Mari's fate changed when Ichiro installed an incomplete Conscience Circuit into her, setting her on the same challenging path of moral struggle that Jiro experienced.
History[]
Bijinder takes on a tragic role as she searches for Dr. Komyoji, hoping to find a way to help Jiro, who had shut himself down after mistakenly believing he had malfunctioned. When her search for Dr. Komyoji proves fruitless, Bijinder also deactivates herself, entering a state of power-down.
Unfortunately, her dormant state makes her vulnerable, and she is eventually captured by Hakaider, who installs a Submission Circuit in her. This forced modification transforms Bijinder into a pawn of evil, erasing her free will and turning her into a weapon under Hakaider's control. Now serving as a soldier of darkness, she captures Kikaider and later engages in a battle against 01, her former ally.
During the confrontation with 01, the fight takes a tragic turn. Due to the urgency of the situation and the limited visibility of nighttime, 01 is forced to act without the restraint he would normally exercise. In the heat of battle, he delivers a critical blow to Bijinder, striking her head and causing her to shut down completely.
Following her deactivation, her broken form is recovered by Hakaider, who decides to recycle her existence in a grim manner. Bijinder is split into two separate androids, Surender and Karender, both female androids who emerge as new creations from her original form.
Characteristics[]
Bijinder's design carries symbolic elements tied to her character's evolution. Initially, she shares a visual connection with both Kikaider and 01 through the presence of the Conscience Circuit, albeit in an incomplete state. This visual representation of her moral struggle is compounded by her eventual transformation into Surender and Karender, where her identity is literally divided, signifying her forced submission to Hakaider's will and her tragic departure from her former heroic role.
