Akira (アキラ) is a boy targeted by the Hakaider Corps. In reality, he is the second son of Professor Gill, the leader of the now-destroyed DARK, and he has lost his memories through hypnosis. The blueprints for the heart of the giant robot "Giant Devil" are engraved onto his back using a special ink. These blueprints become visible when illuminated by light reflected off water. He interacts with Hiroshi without any sense of incongruity, treating him like a brother. When joined by Hiroshi and Misao, they are no longer targeted, and the story shifts away from its main focus, featuring more comedic and theatrical scenes.
